We had breakfast with our church group this morning and ended the day with dinner with friends of ours which led to a game of spades.

All in all, a very quiet relaxing day. Geta took a 3-hour nap, and I laid on the couch and read for several hours.

I did manage to get the lawn mowed.

Take care, we shall talk soon.

We just got back from an evening out. We went to see the matinee Wedding Crashers. I laughed quite a bit, I think Vince Vaughn (sp?) is hilarious. After that, we cruised on over to the Cool Springs Galleria and grabbed a bite to eat. Afterwards, we strolled through the mall, ending up at Walden Books. I said to Geta, we really should head on over to Barnes & Nobles and look for books there. Ever since I have removed TV from my life, I have a lot more time to do a lot more things. With the exception of Hannity & Colmes on Fox News, I really do not watch any TV anymore.

Well, anyways we got to B&N and I completely forgot about the new Harry Potter book. Not my cup of tea, but it was neat to see all the kids there anxios to buy a book and read it. Say what you will about the subject matter, at least kids are reading. I hope the Chronicles of Narnia enjoy a resurrgence in the coming months with the movie due out around the Holiday's.

I bought 2 books tonight, Garbage Land by Elizabeth Royte and The Mole People written by Jennifer Toth. The Mole People deals with the underground life of New York City, and the people who call the tunnels home. The Mole People was recommended by a fellow working at B&N and seeing as he is around books all day, he probably knows a thing or two about what is and isn't a good read.

I spent the day in Smyrna looking at land, trying to find property that we can start building on. Last week in Texas we put together a $13 million deal to build houses. My 2 partners and I have been frantically searching for parcels that are zoned correctly to start the development ball rolling. I had a meeting with one of the city planners, and she was quite helpful providing me a 4' by 4' map that is normally $30, for free. I still got the charm!!!

Well, that is all for now, have a good night, and a great weekend.

Books I have read recently...

Deliver Us From Evil - Sean Hannity
I am a big Sean Hannity fan, and listen to him most afternoons as well as watching Hannity & Colmes quite religiously on Fox News. This book deals with a lot of current events from a conservative standpoint. It is obvious that the author went to a lot of trouble in that all facts cited within the book are referenced in the back as to their source. While not the fastest read, the book proves interesting and informative.

Defecit of Decency - Zell Miller
Former Democratic US Senator Zell Miller writes a riveting book that from the moment I started I couldn't put down. Paralleling the book by Sean Hannity, it is interesting to read of his transformation from a religious fellow, to a born again Christian. The author writes about current events, as well as his perception of the failure of the Democratic party he once called his own. I would strongly urge you to read this book if you have any interest in all in government and politics as I think it will open your eyes as it did mine.

The Truth about Hillary: What She Knew, When She Knew It, and How Far She'll Go to Become President - Edward Klein
The author chronicles the rise to power of Hillary Rodham Clinton from sources close to the former first lady as well as others she knew, or had come into contact with. This is a very inciteful book, and one that exposes the monster Hillary really is. A very fast read, written more like a tabloid than a true novel, cohesive thoughts tie the entire book together and makes for a very interesting, if not scary read. As Hillary continues her change from liberal to middle of the road, books like this will serve well to remind the world of what Hillary is as a person, and as a politician.

Freakonomics - Steven D. Levitt, Stephen J. Dubner
A good friend of mine bought me this book while in Texas last week. I feel that if someone who is successful recommends, or better yet buys you a book, you should read it, and in the case of this book, I am glad both of those factors were true. Very, very entertainingm up to and including laugh out loud humor, at the expense of others of course, but a well written look at factors that make the world turn. The funniest part deals with the naming of babies, and how your name can affect your lot in life. Specifically the author deals with black names, and tells the story of a woman upset because her neice was named shuh-TEED. The mother spelt it Shithead. He compares Real Estate Agents with Sumo Wrestlers and asks the important question, why do drug dealers still live with their mothers? Well written, and entertaining, I knocked this book off in 3 days flat.

I have just started a book called The Ezekiel Option, and so far have found its blend of fiction based on current events entertaining. I will give a full review when I finish the book.

Take care...
