In memory of Leland 2

Leland led a simple life. Apart from the occasional swim to the top of his world to gather the freshly delivered food, he basically kept to himself in a quiet life that he compared to Howard Hughes. If Leland 2 had one fault, it was that he didn't get out enough. He knew it, but was OK with that fact.

Leland 2 didn't really prepare to pass on, and as such most of his final arrangements had to be made upon his passing. We gathered around the downstairs bathroom toilet this afternoon in a private ceremony. The fact that Leland 2 was such a great fish was spoken by those who attended, and it was commented that is was indeed sad to see him go. As the toilet was flushed, the thought of obtaining Leland 3 had been broached, however I am not sure I am ready to commit to another relationship at this point in time. Technically, we had a DNR (Do Not Replace) policy in place at the time of Leland 2's passing, but I am confident that that policy could be changed.

In closing, I would ask that in lew of flowers for Leland 2, that you simply send cash, and lots of it. Cash donations can be made payable to me directly, and sent as quickly as possible. I will also accept checks as well as money orders. Perhaps the best way to honor Leland 2 would be to send gift cards from Starbucks, for it was in the cupholder of my car where I would normally keep my drink from Starbucks that Leland 2 made his most ambitious of journeys as he traveled from California to his new home, and ultimately his place of eternal rest here in Nashville TN.

R.I.P. Leland 2

Sometime during the night our Betta fish Leland 2 passed away. He went quietly, and without much pain. Leland 2 was a replacement fish for Leland, who died in an unfortunate poisoning several years ago. Leland 2 was born in California, and he traveled via cupholder to Tennessee where he took up residence on our fireplace mantle. He was for the most part quiet, although he liked to play dead from time to time which always gave those who knew him a chuckle.

He took ill this past week, and those who knew him wished him well, and paid their lasts respects. It is kind've sad watching something die right before your eyes, I really hope he did not suffer. He seems peaceful, and he passed with a smile on his face, so I suspect he really didn't suffer.

God speed Leland 2, may your swim in the eternal fishbowl be joyous.

I know I haven't been posting for a while, and I am sorry. I have been busy. Last weekend I helped Jim Pepe move down from Syraucse to Nashville. He is now a Nashville resident. I am really happy for him. In the book department, I have started, and almost finished a book called The Fair Tax Plan. Compelling information that really makes you think about how much money the government is taking from our weekly paychecks. I would urge you to buy a copy and read it, I think it will motivate you to take action.

We saw The Island a couple of weeks ago, and hopefully this weekend I will be able to catch The Dukes of Hazzard. I know, it will be short on substance, but wasn't the original TV show as well?

I had something else to share with you, but I can't remember what it was that I wanted to say. Oh well, this concludes this installment. For those of you who check in from time to time, thank-you.

Take care for now...
